On our 20-acre site at the base of West Rock Ridge, a diverse community of children, young people, and adults cultivate habits of healthy living and sustainable environmental practice. In the last year: More than 6000 community members took part in school field trips, after-school programs, summer ecology camp, birthday parties, and other community programs for children, young people, and adults. 150 high school students studied environmental justice, local history, Shakespeare, trigonometry and global issues at our charter high school. 5000+ pounds of organic produce grew in the gardens of our urban farm, and were put to use in our kitchen and by New Haven area residents. 13 innovative environmental practices were modeled and studied on our site.
