Melissa Ferrara grew up on a small farm where she and her family grew their own vegetables and raised animals. She always knew that she, too, would run a farm of her own one day.

In 1996, Melissa and her husband Lou started their small farm and breeding business, New England Alpacas. They currently raise close to 40 Peruvian and Peruvian/Bolivian huacaya crosses. Melissa and Lou are thrilled that their two young children help raise the animals and enjoy being involved in every step of the life cycle.  An active member of our 4-H group and the area 4-H Fair Association, Melissa’s daughter also shows the animals and helps process and spin the alpaca fiber.

New England Alpacas is a member of the Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association (AOBA) and the New England Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association (NEAOBA). All animals are ARI registered. If you would like to learn more about the animals or schedule a visit to the farm, give Melissa a call.

Alpacas for sale year round, breeding stock and pet quality.
