What is a CSA?
When you buy a CSA share you are purchasing a share of the year's harvest or production. Signup for shares usually occurs before the season so that the anticipated costs of running the farm are covered. CSA members in return receive a share of produce, usually each week, for a specified length of time. CSAs aren’t limited to produce and innovative takes on the CSA model have been applied to other agricultural products like meat, dairy and flowers.
