The orchards on Route 83 were originally planted in 1977-78. Since then they have replaced many of the older trees and built a whole new orchard. The new location, on Schoolhouse Road in Ellington, was started in 1996 and is still being added to. They now offer a total of 60 acres of dwarf apple trees bearing 14 different varieties and 35 acres of easy to reach peach trees bearing 11 different varieties.They also offer preschool apple orchard field trips in the fall.
