Search Tips

1. Enter Product or Farm name into the search box. - If you just want to search for a specific town then type in the location name and hit GO. (any combination of product, farm, or town will also yield search results)

2. If you are looking for something specific such as a farmers' market or a restaurant then do so by choosing either from the pull down menu labelled "Anywhere". You can also search for just producers in this menu as well.

3. Select the distance you are willing to travel (5mi to 250mi). This will give you a radial search of however many miles from the zip code you enter (Hartford is the default zip code). Now hit GO to see the search results.

About Stone Gardens Farm

Fred and Stacia Monahan have been farming since they were both kids. In fact, the two met while working at the same farm. Since then, besides raising two boys, the Monahans started their own farm right around the corner from where Fred grew up. Their stand started out as a table on a nearby friend's farm, but quickly expanded as the demand for their fresh vegetables and sweet corn grew.

They now operate on over 20 acres and grow a wide variety of vegetables, and now fruits, throughout the year. The farm stand has blossomed into a full fledged store, offering everything grown on the farm and even some other local products such as honey. You can also find Stacia, and sometimes Fred (though his preferred vocation is working on the farm), at one of several farmers' markets in the area, including four in New Haven and one at Griffin Hospital in Derby.

The Monahans take fierce pride in their work and pleasure in growing the highest quality produce for families to enjoy. And if you are looking for bedding plants or hanging flower pots, Stone Gardens has a spectacular selection. Visit them 8 months out of the year, from May to December. And don't forget to ask about their farm raised eggs, turkeys and beef!
