About Maple Bank Farm
Established in 1730, Maple Bank Farm is one of the country’s few Bicentennial Farms offering a vibrant selection of fruits and vegetables—including some heirloom varieties—as well as annuals, perennials and hand-spun wool from sheep raised right on the farm.
Cathy and Howard Bronson are the eighth generation to grow on the farm that has been in Cathy’s family since before the American Revolutionary War. They both have a strong agricultural background; Cathy spent much of her childhood helping her grandfather deliver baskets of eggs door to door in Danbury and Waterbury, and Howard grew up milking cows on his father’s dairy farm in Washington, Connecticut. Now, the couple runs Maple Bank full-time.
Maple Bank is a family-friendly farm with many fun activities and sights to see. Throughout the year, Cathy and Howard offer a number of educational workshops, including spinning classes, basket making, and split rail fence building. Families also enjoy watching the Bronson's flock of sheep that graze not too far from Maple Bank Farm Stand.
Visit Cathy and Howard at their farm stand or at the Bethel Farmers' Market to enjoy a bit of their bountiful harvest.
