About Farmers' Market at Billings Forge
The Market has moved onto the grass courtyard on the north side of Firebox Restaurant, still on Broad Street but closer to Capitol Avenue! See map a directions, right.
The Market also features food carts with lunch items such as falafel, gyro, and empanada sandwiches. Picnic tables are provided and live music is performed at every market!
The Farmers’ Market at Billings Forge began in 2024 at the Billings Forge apartment complex a block away from the state Capitol building in the Frog Hollow neighborhood of Hartford. The market aims to provide our residents with access to fresh, unprocessed foods and to draw new people and life into Frog Hollow. They are now open two days a week: Mondays and Thursdays from 11 am to 2 pm beginning May 22nd and running through October.
The Farmers’ Market at Billings Forge is Hartford’s biggest farmers’ market. Their farmers and food artisans come from all over Connecticut to sell their fresh and delicious goods direct to the consumer. In addition to produce, fruits, and flowers they also have excellent breads, dairy including locally made ice cream and cheese, pastured beef, pork, and eggs, jams, pickles, soaps, and locally roasted coffees. The market also features a rotating array of artists and craftspeople and monthly event days.
